Prof. Crnokrak has been with the UE since 2019 and is currently the programme director of Visual & Experience Design, and Generative Design & AI for the UE Innovation Hub in Potsdam, as well as a professor for UE Berlin. Prof. Crnokrak has specialisms in areas of Computational History, Archeo-Informatics, Experience Design, Data Analysis and Visualization, Computational and Generative Design.
Peter Crnokrak publishes design research under the moniker The Luxury of Protest – a research platform focussed on computational history, archaeo-informatics, and generative visualisation. Employing spatial and temporal archaeological data analysis, projects examine history through knowledge discovery, machine learning, and computational statistical approaches.
Peter Crnokrak holds a doctorate in the computational sciences from McGill University, and has lectured at a number of international institutions including the Royal College of Art, London College of Communication and Sint-Lukas School of Design on the use of computation as a critical design and art practice. In 2010, Peter was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in recognition of award-winning expertise in design and data visualisation.
