Arsenal

The Arsenal is University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE)’s central equipment pool. It serves to provide all students and faculty with the technical equipment they need to realize their artistic projects. The Arsenal has a lot to offer, including a large number of digital and analog photo cameras (small, medium, and large formats), digital video cameras, as well as lighting and sound equipment. In addition to equipment rentals, the Arsenal is where you can book the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) campus' studios and laboratories.

EQUIPMENT CATALOG

When renting equipment for the first time, you need to provide proof of a liability insurance. Please send in your proof by mail or bring a copy to the Arsenal when picking up your equipment.

Laptops can only be taken out during the day.

STUDIOS

Two workplaces with Hensel background system and two flashes installed.

Extra fitting room.

Movable walls in black/white and different soft boxes.

Background colours are replaceable, a colour catalog is available at the Arsenal Berlin.

2 Product Photo Studio // Room 00.66

Two tabletops with paper backgrounds (black and white) and different props.

3 Greenscreen Studio and Photo Studio // Room 00.51

Huge Greenscreen with a lightning system and a treadmill.

One extra workplace with a wall system.

Background colours are replaceable, a colour catalog is available at the Arsenal Berlin.

Darkroom & Lightroom // Room 00.52 / 00.54

One scan station with Epson V750/Vuescan in the lightroom and 10 workstations in the darkroom, separate film and paper development, drying cabinet, baryt drying press, light-table.

Cutting Studio // Room 00.62

Scan-lab // Room 01.66

3 Scanners with Epson V750/Vuescan.

The key for the scan-lab is available at the Arsenal, the same applies to negative holders for scanning films.

Please arrange and reserve the working hours for the respective workshops with us in advance.

for rental matters (equipment/reservations) always Mon – Fri from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. For everything else (consultations/introductions/Print Lab) by arrangement.

EQUIPMENT CATALOG

An inventory catalog of equipment available for loan is available at the Arsenal during opening hours and at the Arsenal-Hamburg-Team-Channel.

There you can also see the reservation calendars for all workshops.

STUDIOS

Photo studio / Room – 1.05

Equipment: Studio flash system and various other flash and continuous light lamps, background roller system, tabletop transmitted-light table, various Manfrotto grip materials, etc.

Darkroom / Room – 0.21

Equipment: 13 workstations, separate film and paper development, drying cabinet, baryt drying press

Print Lab / Room 1.01

Equipment: fine art and large format printing, 3 workstations with calibrated screens, scanner (films and screens), cutting plotter, 3D printer, cutting and laminating for exhibitions, framing, work documentaries, etc.

Green-Screen Studio / Room 2.08

Equipment: div. Arri lights – Fesnel and Fokus (artificial light) and Kino Flo 4 Banks (daylight and artificial light) and div. other lamps, large green screen, div. Manfrotto grip material and much more.

Screen printing studio / Room 2.21

Equipment: exposure table, hand printing table SIMPLEX II with vacuum turbine, screen printing carousel (4 colors), screen printing with water-based inks (solvent-free), printability of various materials such as paper, textiles, wood, glass or plastic up to max. 100×70 cm.

Please arrange and reserve the working hours for the respective workshops with us in advance. For introductory courses in small groups of 5-10 people please contact us.
